Follow the Prophet - the returned missionary

The first presidency and the quorum of the twelve apostles are now on Facebook. These are set up as business pages and you can go and like them just like you would like the mormon.org facebook page (which has 1.8 million likes now). The likes on pages like these are semi-equivalent to a follower on twitter. You can find all their facebook pages here:

First Presidency on Google Plus.

And the First Presidency are on Google+ now as well. These are actual personal profiles. I have heard that it is strictly for Google Authorship markup purposes. Either way it is great that they are doing this. Whether for them to connect more personally to those who want to follow them, or to build the online presence of the Church, this is a great move in my opinion. Here are the profiles of the First Presidency on Google+

Even if this is just being used for Google Authorship markup, (to increase the rankings of lds.org and all the publications that are on there from general conference and other sources) this is a great move. Authorship definitely makes a difference for articles. This is a great thing for the Church to do. As I have stated in the last article about online missionary work, there is so much that can be done and so much potential on the internet to get more eyeballs on truth. This is most definitely one of them.
